Program series
Singing together is a good thing - whether during a trip to Lake Balaton in the car with our friends, at a concert singing our favorite songs, or singing happy birthday to a family member. There is great magic in communal singing, and that's why we have invited four wonderful female singers to introduce us to the secrets of each genre. They bring well-known and lesser-known songs so that through them, they can introduce us to the musical language of each style and, under their guidance, we can perform the songs together.
The Bartók Konzi – New Music event was first held in 2013 at the Bartók Conservatory, the training school of the Liszt Academy of Music. As an unofficial curriculum, the program aims to broaden students' musical horizons, expand their expressive tools, and prepare young musicians to interpret contemporary music. The organizers consider it important to involve as many students as possible in the programs, which are held from time to time as part of a spring project day. The young musicians prepare for the event for months. Starting in 2025, "Bartók Konzi - New Music" will be realized in cooperation with the House of Music.
The new, exclusive series of the House of Music continues in the Sound Dome, in the second act of From Dusk to Dawn, we are once again waiting for our more adventurous guests for an all-night audiovisual journey.
SOUNDING WALKS are thematic guided events - in the permanent exhibition space - that can be visited in series, but can also be a complete event on its own. What we see and hear, and what is still behind it! Interesting facts, entertaining educational in an hour, after which visitors can enjoy the exhibition on their own.
Take a look around the indoor spaces of the House of Music Hungary with an expert music teacher as your guide! The best thing about our building tour is that it is not just about architecture, but also the music created and performed in the spaces! Why? Who for? How?
Our planned new series is the sister of our regularly sold-out "Joy, Music, Club Life" session. However, as the name suggests, the focus is not on playing music together, but on listening to music and creating music-inspired art.
Those of us who still remember how we used to listen to music back when Little Richard sang from shiny black vinyl discs also know what playing records gave music fans: time dedicated to listening to the music with deep absorption, printed lyrics to browse and memorable album covers. And there was even more, because the medium itself influenced the songwriting: the very designation of sides A and B of singles raised the question of the priority and order of the songs, which brought with it the genesis and application of the musical or ideological concept that served as the organising principle behind the entire album.
