Singing Together with Dalma Süle – opera

Singing together is a good thing – whether during a car trip with friends by Lake Balaton, singing our favorite songs together at a concert, or singing happy birthday to a family member. There is great magic in communal singing, which is why we invited four wonderful singers to introduce us to the mysteries of various musical genres. They bring both well-known and lesser-known songs to familiarize us with the musical language of each style, and with their guidance, we will also perform these songs.
In the second installment of the series, Dalma Süle, an opera singer, will visit us to talk about the intricacies of the opera genre, sharing what is necessary for such a complex work to come to the stage. How many and what multifaceted tasks need to be accomplished for a piece to be presented? How do singing and acting, music, and theater come together? What does an opera singer's everyday life look like, and what happens behind the scenes? How has opera inspired popular music and vice versa? How has opera seeped into pop culture, and even into the world of advertising? What techniques must an opera singer master, starting with how to breathe? We can get answers to all these questions while we jointly take on one or two well-known arias. We'll evoke the age when opera provided many hits, when the people of Vienna and Paris liked to hum their favorite arias in the streets.
