AMBRUS TÖVISHÁZI - SUMORF BORDÖGÖK
AMBRUS TÖVISHÁZI - SUMORF BORDÖGÖK
This programme is held in Hungarian.
If any of the band names Amorf Ördögök, Erik Sumo, Péterfy Bori & Love Band are familiar to you, or perhaps the film scores of Liza, the Fox-Fairy, or the Blue Pelican, then you have certainly already encountered the world of Tövisházi Ambrus.
In April 2026 the Magyar Zene Háza will host the world's first Kacatpop Anthology concert. On this special evening all the main bands and many offshoots of the style invented by the songwriting duo Tariska Szabolcs-Tövisházi Ambrus will reveal themselves. On stage, alongside the duo who took part in laying the cornerstone, outstanding musical collaborators will also line up: Péterfy Bori, who with her own band also comes from the Kacatpop stable, Amorf Ördögök (Mészáros Ádám, Tompa Ákos) and the current Love Band members (Gáspár Gergely, Drapos Gergely, Pápai István), the wonderful singers of the slightly later-formed Erik Sumo zenekar (Kiss Erzsi, Kutzora Edina) and those guests with whom Ambrus has entered into various interesting and surprising collaborations over the years: Harcsa Veronika, Lovasi András and Dr. Máriás.
At the Sumorf Bordögök concert the most beautiful and most surprising pieces will be performed: Amorf songs forged from operettas, folk music and trip-hop by the songwriting duo who are almost simultaneously celebrating their 50th birthdays, but Erik Sumo's globe-trotting space disco will also appear, featuring many African, Japanese and European folk influences. Péterfy Bori will sing those rare Love Band songs that are less often heard at her loud club concerts. Harcsa Veronika will also appear, in memory of the five years she spent with the Erik Sumo band. Lovasi András and Dr. Máriás will also perform — they have worked with Ambrus several times over the past 20 years in songwriting-producer partnerships, and together they will evoke those memories.
