On August 23, 2026, for the fourth time, the Hungarian Jazz Day/Festival will be held at the House of Music! The all-day Sunday program series pays tribute to the genre of Hungarian jazz, with free outdoor concerts and indoor performances – jointly organized by the Hungarian Jazz Association and the Hungarian House of Music. On the Outdoor Stage you can hear the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band, the Lőrinc Barabás Quartet, the Hodek Trio, Coltrane Legacy, and the evening will be closed by Bálint Gájer and his band.
The repertoire of the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band features their own arrangements and adaptations of popular dixieland evergreens. The Lőrinc Barabás Quartet incorporates numerous styles into its program alongside instrumental pop music and jazz. The Hodek Trio brings a fusion of precise rhythms, deep grooves, and virtuosic instrumental playing. The six-member Coltrane Legacy was founded on the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane’s death and has since kept the legendary saxophonist’s oeuvre alive. Bálint Gájer and his band evoke the classic world of swing, jazz and rock and roll with a modern, dynamic performance style and an elegant stage atmosphere.
