The Los Pirañas concert is for those who like it when Latin music breaks out of its usual boundaries. This Colombian instrumental supergroup mixes the worlds of cumbia, vallenato, champeta and Peruvian chicha with psychedelic rock, noisy improvisations and absurd humor. The result is at once raw, crazy, unpredictable, and irresistibly danceable. Before their concert, the new formation Szodé, led by Ádám Mészáros, will play from the Hungarian side.
The members of the trio are key figures of contemporary Latin American music: Eblis Alvarez from Meridian Brothers, Mario Galeano from Frente Cumbiero and Ondatropica, and Pedro Ojeda from Romperayo. For nearly thirty years they have been shaping their own eccentric sound, in which Colombian tradition is not a museum relic, but a constantly changing, reinterpretable raw material.
Live, Los Pirañas operates with elemental energy. The guitar, bass and drums simultaneously evoke the pulse of tropical dance music, the freedom of punk and the boldness of psychedelic rock. It is no coincidence that they have moved audiences of tens of thousands at the Roskilde Festival and become regular guests at many of Europe’s major world music and alternative festivals.
The music of Los Pirañas is both entertaining and experimental: a concert experience in which virtuosity, humor and unbridled dance energy all pull in the same direction. Prepare for a wild, colorful and completely unpredictable evening.

Over the past twenty years, Ádám Mészáros has been one of the most mercurial Hungarian guitarists, whose musical journey across styles and borders has already secured him a place in the pop-rock world (Péterfy Bori & Love Band, Amorf Ördögök, Erik Sumo Band),
while he also moves comfortably in the world of avant-garde jazz and free music (Jü, Qiyan, Jazzaj), and at the same time is a key figure in folk-based productions (Tariqa, Said
Chalaban, Mabon Dawud Republic), and he is also fond of flirting with other art forms (Krétakör, Minden Csillag film music).
His new band, Szodé, is not only a cross-section of his career, but also a kind of stylistic synthesis. His fellow musicians come from formations such as Mordái, Freakin Disco and Siketfajd.
