József Wunderlich is a well-known actor of Vígszínház, the Boka of The Paul Street Boys, the Radio Guy in The Attic, the title character of The Great Gatsby, and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. He moves with ease in musical genres, regularly performing with László Dés and Gábor Presser, and he is also one of the founding members of Grund, the Vígszínház boys’ band.
Kata Bach is an outstandingly talented and versatile actress of her generation, who, with her delicate physique and determined toughness, has already excelled in many kinds of roles, from classical ingénues to dramatic heroines. Her most famous roles at Vígszínház were Natasha Rostova in War and Peace and Anna Karenina.
Beyond their joint performances at Vígszínház, they are a couple in real life as well, raising two children. They created the evening titled I Will Be a Tree, If at the request of Poket pocket books, selecting material from its anthologies and thus creating a kind of essence of Hungarian classical and contemporary poetry. Sándor Petőfi and Attila József are just as present as Anna T. Szabó or Krisztián Grecsó. Meanwhile, József Wunderlich’s musical settings of poems and his own songs are also performed. It is a peculiar journey in which a thousand themes offer the opportunity for the audience to reconsider the important questions of life, and of course love and humor are inevitable.
