Hangadó Junior - When and What Do We Dance To?
This programme is held in Hungarian.
One to the right, then to the left, then... This is how every dance begins somewhere. But how you move to the right and left makes a big difference. What do the hands, hips, and head do in the meantime? And more importantly, how does the heart beat? And perhaps even more importantly, is there someone who does this with us? Ever since humans became humans, they've been dancing. But why? When do we dance at all? And to what kind of music? Obviously, we won't have the opportunity—or the talent and leg muscles—to dance through the history of humanity, but we're making an attempt to see why, when, and to what people have been dancing over the past 100 years. (But why they wore such strange clothes in the '80s, we won't be able to answer.)
Hangadó Junior is a series produced by the House of Music that burst into the House's life in 2023 and immediately achieved great success, continuing to draw full houses ever since. This series is now having an entirely new occasion that hasn't been presented before, but, of course, the usual features like the music analysis exercise and the humorous music history cannot be missed. In this, the excellent musicians of PerpiJazz and its wonderful singer, Fruzsi Girincsi, will be assisting us, showing what relaxed hips look like. But there's no need to be scared; no one will have to dance against their will! In fact, we especially welcome the wooden-legged. At least Feri Tarr certainly does, as the main wooden-leg and concert pedagogue of the House of Music, he's responsible for the good atmosphere and appropriate standards. He promises that, as usual, there will be no shortage of laughter, good music, and plenty of joint games!
