Szeged – the city of sunshine.

Szeged – the city of the Blonde Tisza…

…and yes, Szeged is the CITY OF MUSIC.

The city of Viktor Vaszy, Géza Oberfrank and Tamás Pál, József Gregor, Valéria Berdál, and Mária Temesi.

So many shining names from a glorious past. Musical figures who, beyond raising the fame and reputation of Szeged, served the rise of Hungarian musical culture as a whole through their work.

But is only the past glorious? Does Szeged’s musical life and culture have a present and a future as well?

We believe it does!

With our concert, we wish to showcase and demonstrate that one of Southern Hungary’s most important industrial and commercial hubs is also a bastion of musical culture today—and will continue to be so in the future, thanks to the dedicated and in-depth professional work carried out at the Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged.
