To support the mission of the House of Music Hungary, within the Fringe program launched in 2024 – under which we announce a call in three categories every year – we offer performance opportunities at various locations in the House to emerging musicians and hobby bands at the beginning of their careers, as well as to street musicians, music schools, and music creation workshops. Hats Off! is our most informal series, in which we fill the outdoor surroundings of the House of Music and the City Park with street musicians and the music they play. This time, Side 2 Side will be playing around the House and at the Music Garden (ZeneKert).
The duo was formed in the summer of 2017 by two graduates of the Kőbánya Music Studio. Their instrumental music, built on guitar and saxophone, blends modern, electronic soundscapes with more traditional jazz elements. The project has evolved in search of new sounds; they are continuously working on their own tracks, and they also play covers of other artists. In addition to the sound of guitar and saxophone, the duo’s special feature is the use of various effects and loops, which makes it possible for multiple parts to be heard together. Their performances take place in various clubs, events, and functions, whether as background music or concert shows.

As part of the Fringe program launched to support the mission of the House of Music – with calls announced in three categories – we are giving an opportunity for music school students, amateur musicians, and street musicians to perform at various points in the House. In the Hats Off! series, we fill the external environment of the House of Music, the City Park, with street musicians and the music they play.
