Our series is the sister of our regularly sold-out workshop titled “Joy, Music, Club Life.” However, as the name suggests, the focus here is not on making music together, but much more on listening to music and creating inspired by music. These bi-monthly sessions are thematic: participants can encounter different musical worlds and creative techniques. The musical world of the sixth session is again Impressionism. The creative technique is watercolor, and the keyword: impression.
The aim of our “Joy, Music, Creation” series is that, after the shared musical games, we can also discover the joy of creation inspired by music! With the help of creative activity, we develop our imagination and unfold our creative energies while breaking away from everyday life. We hope that during the session we will discover the joy inherent in attentive shared listening and in focused, in-depth creation. All this can be done in the usual pleasant club atmosphere, relaxing over a cup of tea. We believe that creativity lies within everyone; at the same time, participation does not require any artistic background or drawing skills. What does the music of Impressionist composers tell us? Inspired by the works we listen to, we can express in the pictures we create the thoughts and feelings that the music evokes in us, focusing on its mood, repetitions, and melody.
The musical part of the workshop is led by music educator Dóra Tápai, and the creative exercises are led by Judit Kőszegi-Simon.
