This programme is held in Hungarian.
Every well-behaved child knows that if you hit a pot with a wooden spoon, it will ring. What’s more, if you do it often enough, there’s a good chance the neighbor will join in the music. (Whether with words or by knocking back is another matter! 😁) So most children are introduced to the world of percussion instruments at an early age. In fact, if we want to be more scientific, we can say they discover the world of idiophones. (Do pay attention to the word ending when discussing this with your neighbor! 😉) But well-behaved children don’t stop there: they soon discover what a lovely, resonant sound they can make by blowing into a beer bottle, a pipe, or some plastic thing Grandma gave them—that is, they soon discover how aerophones work, too. And if the neighbor still hasn’t moved out by then, there’s usually no stopping them from trying stringed instruments—watch out, technical term: chordophones. But there are many other ways to talk about musical instruments, and we think they’re well worth exploring. After all, Mátyás Sőnfeld, music educator, inventor, and creator of the Zenebatyu program, will soon prove that in the right hands, anything can be an instrument! So, at the fourth installment of the entertaining family show Hangadó Junior, we’ll take on this big challenge—and hope for lots of happy tears along the way! Once again, the show will be hosted by Feri Tarr, concert educator at the House of Music.
