At one of the lavish parties of the celebrated Parisian courtesan, Violetta meets Germont Alfredo. They fall madly in love, and although Violetta hesitates to leave her libertine life of luxury, she finally follows her heart. However, the young couple's happiness is short-lived as they must soon face the harsh reality... La Traviata is as intimate as it is grand. It contains some of the most famous melodies in the opera repertoire and offers a near-star role to the protagonist, portrayed by the incredibly talented soprano, Ermonela Jaho. In the opulent world directed by Richard Eyre, at the center of Verdi's opera shines gentle yet destructive beauty.
