As part of the DJ Palotai Day, the concert program starting at 8 p.m. in the Auditorium invites audiences interested in sophisticated, innovative, forward-looking and richly detailed electronic music on a two-hour musical journey. The evening begins with a live act by Eril Fjord, and concludes with a special DJ set by Cadik.
Eril Fjord is an artist working in the world of ambient and electronica, a quiet rebel of the Hungarian electronic music scene, who will open the concert program with a one-off, unrepeatable live act created especially for this occasion.
As a DJ and producer he has been obsessed for nearly two decades with finely structured, story-centered material. His own works are permeated by a kind of duality between modern, contemporary music and retrospective synthesis. Gently textured, improvisational pieces that avoid musical elitism. Elevated, instinctive and sentimental sounds from the borderlands of ambient, electronica and krautrock. His third solo album, released in 2025 under the title ‘Lost Tapes Of Interkomos’, pays homage to Bertalan Farkas’s space journey, with the former astronaut personally overseeing the work.
At 9 p.m., Cadik will take the stage with a special production mix. During the concert, alongside his tracks released by renowned European labels, exclusive, as yet unheard, pre-release compositions will also be played.
A cult and indispensable figure of Budapest’s music scene, he has been active for more than 30 years. Although his art draws from the roots of dub and hip-hop, he is capable of constant renewal and always places his focus on innovation. A musical futurist, he has a good sense for recognizing and following emerging trends and talents. He often presents the experimental – non-linear – side of the styles he represents in his mixes and releases.
He is a highly versatile, acclaimed beatmaker. He has produced material in various genres; among others, greats of the Detroit hip-hop scene (Slum Village, Black Milk, Blu, Elzhi, Illa J, Georgia Anne Muldrow, M.E.D.) have also appeared on his records.
He is a film composer; in 2007 the Hungarian Film Week (Magyar Filmszemle) honored his team (Membran) with the award for best original film score.
He has been a pioneer and domestic representative of British deep dubstep from the very beginning. He strengthens the rosters of the cult labels Artikal Music UK, White Peach Records and Duploc, as well as the Hungary-related Frozen Plates, with his releases.
Formerly the closest DJ partner of Zsolt Palotai and co-founder of the legendary Rewind series, he is today an internationally acclaimed music producer and a creator on the European scene.
