On this evening, two village Gypsy bands with very similar energy, operating actively today, will take the stage. One is from Szászcsávás in the Transylvanian Vízmellék, the other is the band Šukovci from Feketebalog located in the heart of Slovakia. A further common point is that both are characterized by dynastic organization, with knowledge passed down from father to son. Both formations are famous in the Carpathian Basin revival scene, having conquered stages worldwide, with one of the Szászcsávás Band's most famous albums being a recording from a Chicago concert. They are guaranteed to blow up the stage with an irresistible, powerful stage presence, performing the repertoire of their region as part of our program series, "Lands and Their Music." The Concert Hall will be arranged in a semi-seated-standing manner, so we especially welcome those who wish to dance, as everyone will want to take to the dance floor!
