Transcendent Waves is a series of events focusing on contemporary ambient and deep-listening music. The series is hosted and curated by Balázs Zságer.
Transcendent Waves events form a bridge between the mythical and the contemporary—an intermedia space where sound is not merely music, but a spiritual experience that transcends time, space, and states of being. The events are characterized by an ethereal, ambisonic sound environment where electronic compositions and immersive visuals merge into one another.
In this space, a shift in perception takes place: the boundaries between the "self" and the environment, sound and silence, presence and absence dissolve. Listening is not passive reception, but a state of consciousness accompanied by deep attention—a contemporary ritual that helps bring awareness, creativity, and self-reflection to the surface. This kind of listening to music can open up access to inner spaces that enable new modes of perception and alternative forms of presence in a world that is becoming noisier by the day.
What insights can we gain by immersing ourselves in the pervasive, captivating world of sound? How can we develop our ability to listen? What happens in our consciousness when we listen? What would we experience if we surrendered ourselves completely to the world of sounds that permeates every moment of our lives? Transcendent Waves seeks answers to these questions.
In addition to the unique sonic experience, the MZH Dome will feature a 360-degree generative projection accompanying the performances of the three artists.
