House of Music Hungary Birthday Charity Evening
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The House of Music is celebrating its 4th anniversary – similar to last year's charity evening with an auction – by focusing on social responsibility: in this framework, we are organizing a charity evening and fundraising event featuring performances and mini-concerts, aiming to support two organizations – Budapest Bike Maffia and Candle Foundation. The entire amount from the tickets sold will be equally distributed between these two organizations. The lineup of performers is quite colorful: alongside singer Vera Tóth, actor József Wunderlich, and Márk Járai, singer of Halott Pénz, musical formations of the House of Music staff celebrating the anniversary will also be featured.
It’s worth arriving early because surprises await the audience during the foyer reception. The evening will take place in a special arrangement, never seen before, in the Concert Hall on two stages. Besides the performances, we can immerse ourselves in the history of the house over the past four years, learn about the selected foundations for support, familiarize ourselves with the formations of the House of Music employees – ranging from electronic music, exciting jams, baroque trios to folk music –, and even the MZH Allstars orchestra is preparing a surprise.
Can music be for everyone? The inspired architectural form of the Hungarian House of Music, its transparency, openness provides a positive answer to this question. Our mission is also one of our slogans: Let’s Play Music! – because music is an enjoyable, social, cooperative game in which everyone can actively participate, regardless of age. This thought is also at the center of our social responsibility: to find opportunities for connection with those living on the margins and the organizations supporting them, so they can experience the healing and creative power of music, where the emphasis is not on separation, but on interaction.
During the evening, we aim to support the following two organizations, distributing the entire amount from the tickets sold equally between the two. Furthermore, there is an opportunity to further support the foundations via the organizations' account numbers.
Candle Charity Service Hungarian Prison Pastoral Society
The Candle Charity Service Hungarian Prison Pastoral Society was established to serve the most despised, ostracized segment of society on September 2, 1991. Their nationwide service has been continuous for 30 years. Their main activity is the correspondence service, exchanging letters with 200 inmates in 20 correctional institutions. Candle facilitates the integration/reintegration of inmates into society through personal, human connections, believing this has a personality and worldview shaping effect, which we all need to build a more peaceful, accepting world.

Budapest Bike Maffia
Budapest Bike Maffia was brought to life in 2011 by the desire to move out of social apathy and take action. They started their work by preparing and collecting food donations and reached out to homeless people living on the street and in social care with bikes during distribution. Their goal was to help improve their lives.
In recent years, the organization has grown dynamically, with many volunteers joining Bike Maffia. Today, through their programs, they approach the problems of homelessness and prejudice in many ways, often beyond primary assistance. Besides their regular food donations, their actions aim at raising awareness, changing perceptions, their school programs focus on sensitization, community building, and promoting volunteerism, and their food rescue project highlights the importance of addressing waste and environmental consciousness.
